Coalition on Homeless Concerns (Community Advocacy Group):
The Coalition for Homeless Concerns (CHC) is committed to involving homeless individuals in seeking solutions for the problems of the homeless and supporting those organizations that serve the homeless. It offers a forum for the discussion of the needs of people experiencing homelessness. CHC provided advocacy in issues of public policy, as well as education and communication to the community at large.
Meeting Times: CHC holds a business meeting and forum, and sometimes a program, from 3:00 to 5:00 PM on the 2nd Tuesday of each month in the Lawrence Public Library. Participants who attend three consecutive
meetings become eligible to vote and to serve as an officer in the organization. Meetings are open to the public. Everyone interested in issues related to homelessness is welcome.
Newsletter: Craig Sweets serves as editor of the "Change of Heart, a quarterly newsletter. Vendors from the homeless community sell issues on the street.
