SUBJECT:     Traffic Safety Commission, November 6, 2006

9th Street adjacent to 616 & 620 W. 9th Street and 846 Indiana Street

At the November 6, 2006, Traffic Safety Commission meeting, the commission heard a request from Bill Reynolds, 846 Indiana Street, to establish 30-MINUTE PARKING on 9th Street adjacent to 616 & 620 W. 9th Street and 846 Indiana Street, due to parking problems during Kansas University football games leaving no parking for adjacent business customers.  The commission recommended, on a 7-1 vote, to establish the restriction.  Commissioner Woods opposed the request; he indicated he did not see a need for the restriction.

Action Requested:  Approve Traffic Safety Commission recommendation establishing 30-minute parking on 9^th Street adjacent to 616 and 620 W. 9 ^th Street and 846 Indiana Street.
