RE: |
Replay Spring Into Summer Event
|
The Replay Lounge has applied for a Temporary Use of Public Right-of-Way Permit for the closure of 10th Street from Massachusetts east to the alley from noon to midnight on Saturday, May 12, for the Replay Spring Into Summer event (see attached map). The applicant also submitted signatures from adjoining businesses not opposing the street closure.
The event would require bus reroute, which can be accommodated. The event also requests barricades and meter bags to close the street, and additional trash barrels.
Organizers of the event have also requested permission to sell alcohol which would be possessed and consumed on the right-of-way inside the event area. To accommodate this request, a public hearing for a distance limitation waiver (because the event would be within 400’ of a church) and adoption of an ordinance to allow possession and consumption on the right-of-way are necessary.
ACTIONS: Approve a Temporary Use of Public Right-of-Way Permit allowing the closure of 10th Street from Massachusetts east to the alley from noon to midnight on Saturday, May 12, for the Replay Spring Into Summer event.
Adopt on first reading, Ordinance No. 8729, allowing possession and consumption of alcoholic liquor on certain public right-of-way in conjunction with Replay Spring Into Summer Event.
