|
A number of upcoming events in South Park have requested permission to sell alcohol, and are also located within 400 feet of one or more churches. Before the sale of alcohol can be authorized, the following actions must be taken:
The events under consideration are:
The churches (Trinity Lutheran Church at 1245 New Hampshire Street, and St John the Evangelist Catholic Church at 1229 Vermont Street) were notified at least 30 days in advance of the public hearing. No comments were received from the churches at the time of the posting of this memo on the City Commission agenda.
ACTION: Hold a public hearing regarding the sale of alcohol at the Hot Rod Hullaballoo, the Kansas State Fiddling and Picking Championships, and the Bike MS event, if appropriate.

Adopt on first reading, Ordinance No. 8764, allowing the possession and consumption of alcohol on the public right-of-way during the Kansas State Fiddling and Picking Championship and the Bike MS event, if appropriate.
