June 2013 Report from the Friends of Iniades

The planning committee for the visit of the Mayor of Messolonghi, Panagiotis Katsoulis (Panos) and his interpreter Dimitra Pitsitkou began meeting at the end of March and had five meetings over the next month and a half to come up with a suitable agenda that would give our guests a sampling of their Sister City, Lawrence and some taste of the state of Kansas as well.  The committee consisted of Dennis Christilles, Karen Christilles, Curtis Barnhill, Jon Josserand, Laura Williams and Ione Unruh.

As was expected the original agenda changed many times before the guests arrived and during the time of their visit.  They were graciously housed at Bob and Sandra Schumm’s home. According to Panos and Dimitra the visit was a success and both were very appreciative of all the effort taken on their behalf.
