CITY MANAGER’S REPORT

Week ending January 17, 2014

Parks and Recreation News

During the first two weeks of January, Parks and Recreation offered free dance and fitness demo classes, providing people of all ages the opportunity to try out the different activities the department has to offer.  Also, staff recently determined the trail path at the site of a future park to be named after long-time Director of Bert Nash Community Health Center Sandra J. Shaw. Bert Nash will eventually donate the property to the city once the trail is completed.  The trail will be funded through a matching grant from the Sunflower Foundation received by John McGrew’s Outside for a Better Inside.
