MEMBERS: Five (5) members who are all residents of
the City. Two members shall serve an
initial three-year term, two members shall serve an initial two year term and
one member shall serve an initial one year term. After the initial terms, committee members
shall serve terms of three years and may be reappointed to serve an additional
term or terms at the discretion of the Governing Body.
MEETINGS: The committee
shall meet at least once every six months.
The first meeting of the committee shall occur no later than June 1,
2009.
FUNCTION:
Adopted by Ordinance No. 8349 on December 2,
2008, the function of the Sales Tax Audit Committee will be to review the
revenues and expenditures of the special sales taxes approved by a majority of
the electors voting thereon on November 4, 2008, to verify that the approved
City retailers’ sales tax revenue is being used properly and in accordance with
the purposes for which said City retailers’ sales taxes were authorized.
