RE:	Approval to purchase:  Half ton truck

Please place the following item on the consent agenda for the City Commission to consider at the September 2, 2014 meeting:

Authorize purchase of one (1) half-ton pickup truck for the Engineering Division from Laird Noller Ford for the amount of $22,481.

Background

The 2014 budget includes authorized funds for the replacement of two (2) pickup trucks in the Engineering Division.  In June, bids were received for trucks for the Finance Department (1) and Public Works Engineering (1).   The current bid has been authorized by Laird Noller staff to extend for one extra truck at previously bid price.  To use pricing from the earlier bid, the order must be placed by September 10, 2014 in order to get the model year in the bid.

Staff Recommendation

Central Maintenance Garage and Engineering Staff recommend the purchase of one (1) half-ton truck from Laird Noller Ford utilizing bid #B1440.

Funding

Funding for this purchase was approved in the 2014 budget process.

Action

Authorize Public Works Engineering to purchase one half ton truck from Laird Noller Ford for the amount of $22,481.
