On September 30, 2014 the City of Lawrence opened proposals for the following:

Project PW1312 – City Bid No. B1454 - Clean-up & Plugging of Water Production Wells Lawrence VenturePark (Farmland).

Project Description

As part of the maintenance and remediation responsibilities of the Lawrence VenturePark (formerly known as the Farmland Industries Nitrogen Plant), staff recommends plugging three existing water production wells. During the plants operational period, these three wells were used to provide process water for the plants operation. The location of these wells are approximately 6300 feet northeast of the plant site (refer to Figure 1).

 

Project Funding

The project is being funded with the environmental remediation fund obtained with the acquisition of the site and has been approved by the Kansas Department of Health & Environment.

 

Action Request

Award Bid No. B1454, Project No. PW1312, clean-up and plugging of water production wells at Lawrence VenturePark, in the amount of $14,850 to R.D. Johnson Excavating Co., Inc., provided they meet the requirements of the signed contract.
