A.        RECOGNITION/PROCLAMATION/PRESENTATION:

1.       Approve City Commission meeting minutes from 03/22/16.

3.       Approve all claims.  The list of claims will be posted by the Finance Department on Monday prior to the meeting.  If Monday is a holiday, the claims will be posted as soon as possible the next business day.

5.       Approve appointments as recommended by the Mayor.

a)       Approve the purchase of one (1) hybrid sedan for the Public Works Department, from Laird Noller Ford, in the amount of $23,570, pursuant to the City’s one percent local purchasing preference policy.   Bid Memo

 

b)       Approve Change Order No. 2, in the amount of $50,955.53, to R.D. Johnson Excavating Inc., for Project No. PW1330 in order to complete the contract for construction of the regional detention basin at Lawrence VenturePark.   Staff Memo & Attachments

 

c)       Award Bid No. B1606 to Nowak Construction Co., Inc. and authorize the City Manager to execute the construction contract in the amount of $325,140.00 for Harvard Road, Crestline Drive to Wellington Road Waterline Replacement, Project No. UT1515.   Bid Memo & Attachments

 

d)       Approve extended Bid No. B09034 pricing from Duke’s Root Control, Inc. for a total estimated cost of $98,314 for the 2016 Chemical Root Control Program.   Staff Memo

 

e)       Approve purchase of  purchase two (2) John Deere Z950M Commercial Ztrak Mowers and one (1) Wiedenmann Terra Spike XF6 Aerator for the Parks & Recreation Department to Deere & Company for $43,945.28, utilizing the State of Kansas cooperative purchasing agreement.   Bid Memo

C.        PUBLIC COMMENT:

a)       Consider approving the Final Development Plan, FDP-15-00642, with the conditions set forth in Staff’s memo.

Citizen Advisory Board for Fair and Impartial Policing:

Two positions expire 03/01/16 and both are eligible for reappointment to additional terms.

 

Community Development Advisory Committee:

Two vacancies for positions that expire 09/30/17 and 09/30/18. These positions are designated for low/mod areas.

 

Contractor Licensing Board:

Two vacancies for positions that expired 12/31/15. These positions are designated for an at-large position and general contractor position. One vacancy for a position that expires 12/31/18. This position is designated for an architect/engineer.

 

Douglas County Senior Services Board:

One vacancy for a position that expired 12/31/15.

 

Electrical Code Board of Appeals:

One vacancy for a position that expires 03/31/18. This position is designated for a Journeyman Electrician.
