RE:	Purchase of one (1) Hybrid Sedan

Background

Public Works Solid Waste Division 2016 replacement schedule recognized the need to replace one unit that has been deemed at the end of its usable life.  Unit #443, a 1997 Ford F150 truck, has met the city’s criteria for replacement.  The equipment replacement schedule is based on age, mileage, hours of use, and cost of maintenance and upkeep.  Bids were requested under the City’s purchasing policy.  Realignment of the division has shown the need to replace this unit with a rightsized and functional unit to fit division needs.

Project Description

Solid Waste Division received the following bids following the City’s purchasing policy.

Staff Recommendation

Solid Waste staff recommends the bid from Laird Noller Ford for $23,570.00 following the one percent purchasing policy. 

Funding

Funding was approved in the 2016 budget process. 

Action

Approve the purchase of one (1) hybrid sedan from Laird Noller Ford pursuant to the City’s one percent local purchasing preference policy.
