Interactive Maps

The City of Lawrence’s Municipal Services & Operations Department has created two interactive maps to help residents learn more about various construction activities across the City. These maps are continually updated. Descriptions for each map and examples of best uses can be found below.

View the Active Right-of-Way Permits Interactive Map

  • The Active Right-of-Way Permits Interactive Map is used to illustrate all activites in the right-of-way that are currently active.
  • Some of these activities can include: utility work, public/private construction, etc.
  • This map may answer questions such as: “Who’s digging in my front yard?” or “Who is doing construction in a particular area?”

  • The City Construction Projects Interactive Map is used to show current status of active City Capital Improvement Projects. The dashboard highlights project phase from planning to close out, budget, description, type, etc.
  • This map may answer questions such as: “When is the street project going to be done?” or “What’s the budget/schedule for this traffic light replacement?”
  •  Additional information about current and past Capital Improvement Projects can be found on the CIP Budget Archive

Dig Safe! Kansas One-Call

The city has joined Kansas One-Call to process all calls for locating city-owned water, sewer, stormwater, traffic signal, and fiber optic lines. Call 811 to locate private and public utilities.
