Aquatics

Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department's Aquatics Division provides a safe and inviting environment that is accessible to the community. Through responsible use of public and private dollars, we strive for the utmost professional staff that is dedicated to providing excellent customer service while maintaining the highest quality of aquatic programming and facilities available.

The division was awarded the 2004 National Excellence in Aquatic Award winner by the National Recreation and Park Association. It also received in 2004 the Best in Aquatics Award from Aquatics International magazine.

The Aquatics Division operates four family-oriented aquatic facilities within the Lawrence community:

• Indoor Aquatic Center
• Carl Knox Natatorium
• Outdoor Aquatic Center
• South Park Wading Pool

Each facility offers a unique aquatic experience, with something for everyone. Year-round programs such as Learn-to-Swim courses, aquatic fitness classes, aquatic training courses, special events, and general recreational and lap swimming provide educational, fun, diverse leisure opportunities for the whole family.
