- Coached one of the first Lawrence travel teams to play in the Shawnee County Amateur Baseball Association.

- Coached American Legion Baseball with Al and Tony Ice
- Was best known for his ability to get fields ready for play
- Did extensive fund raising and assisted with the American Legion Pancake Feed

- Served on the American Legion Baseball Committee
- Died December 25, 1983
