Energy Conservation Fair
The 11th Annual Lawrence Energy Conservation Fair and Sustainable Homes Tour was held on Saturday, September 10, 2011 at the City of Lawrence Community Building (115 W. 11th Street) from 10 am to 4 pm.
Hosted by the City of Lawrence Waste Reduction and Recycling Division, the Lawrence Energy Conservation Fair provided an opportunity for energy efficiency and conservation organizations to reach the Lawrence market in a trade show setting. This event attracted more than 600 attendees who enjoyed learning from a variety of exhibitors including builders, architects, insulation experts, heating and cooling contractors, wind and solar experts, government agencies, non-profits and alternative fuel vehicle representatives.

2011 Lawrence Sustainable Homes Tour
The Lawrence Sustainable Homes Tour occurred on Saturday, September 10th in conjunction with the Lawrence Energy Conservation Fair. As a part of the American Solar Energy Society’s National Solar Tour, the primary purpose of this tour was education. The focus was energy-saving techniques and sustainability through building design, efficient appliances, and use of green materials during remodeling. The tour also provided helpful, real-world examples of costs and how to save money with federal, state, and local incentives.
