Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department continues its instructional dance programs with fall workshops.
Dance Fundamentals II gives participants the opportunity to learn triple-rhythm dance movements and patterns like sailor steps, coaster steps, and crossing triples. The instructor will also review the foot positions and basic techniques that were explained in Dance Fundamentals I. Class takes place 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5, at the Community Building; 115 West 11th St. Singles and partners welcome. Cost is $20 per person. Hustle Workshop teaches participants the foundational elements and patterns of the Hustle, a disco dance originating in the 1970’s. The workshop is 6:30-9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17 at the Community Building. Cost is $15 per person. To register online, visit: http://lprd.org/activity?n=414168.
Intermediate Dance Workshops provides dancers with previous experience the opportunity to learn dance patterns and footwork in the appropriate setting. Wedding Dance Crash Course introduces couples to two or three social dances that are done at wedding receptions. Techniques will be taught with a focus on timing and partner connection.
