Solid waste collection changes over Christmas and New Year’s holidays

Kevin PowellCity, Solid Waste

Due to the Christmas Day and New Year’s Day holidays, there will be no solid waste collection services on Monday, December 25th and on Monday, January 1st. During these two holiday weeks, all residential trash, recycling, and yard waste collection routes will be delayed by one day. Monday routes will be completed on Tuesday, Tuesday on Wednesday, Wednesday on Thursday, Thursday on Friday, and Friday on Saturday. During the first week in January, the Solid Waste Division will also be collecting Christmas trees. Residents may place live-cut trees at the curb or alley by 6:00 am on their collection service day. Artificial items including tinsel, lights, ornaments, and tree stands must be removed. Trees will be used for wildlife habitat.
