LPRD boots up country dance class

Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department is taking enrollments in a wide variety of winter dance classes.

Line Dancing teaches the components of basic to intermediate level dancing and provides participants the basic foundation for line dancing. Class is 5:15-6:15 p.m. Sundays, Jan. 7-Feb. 11, at the Community Building, 115 West 11th St. Cost is $30 per participant. To register online, visit: http://lprd.org/activity?n=114148.

Night Club Dances introduces participants to two of the most popular modern night club dances: the night club sway and the hustle. Dances are practiced and performed to a range of music from current pop and hip hop to 70s disco music. Class is 7:25-8:25 p.m. Sundays, Jan. 7-Feb. 11, at the Community Building. West Coast Swing, known as one of the most challenging lead-and-follow swing dances, employs a wide range of tempos to help participants master this difficult dance.
