Christmas “Tree-Cycling” collection dates

Kevin PowellCity, Solid Waste

Recycling your Christmas tree following the holidays is a great way to return it to nature.  Lawrence residents may place live-cut trees at the curb or alley by 6:00 a.m. on their ‘trash day’ the first week in January for tree-cycling collection. Due to the New Year’s Day holiday on Monday, January 1st, all collection routes will be delayed by one day. Monday customers will receive collection service on Tuesday, Tuesday customers on Wednesday, Wednesday on Thursday, Thursday on Friday, and Friday on Saturday.

Christmas trees will be collected separate from trash and will be used for wildlife habitat.  Please remove all artificial items including tinsel, lights, ornaments, and tree stands.
