LPRD offering video game design camps

Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department, in partnership with Youth Tech, is offering camps to teach children the basics of video game development and design.

Video Game Design invites children 10 years-old to 17 years-old to take an interactive look at the world of mobile video game design and development. Campers will learn the basics of video game design and will produce several different interactive video games to share with friends and family. Video Game Design will be held 1-4 p.m. Monday-Thursday, June 11-14, at Sports Pavilion Lawrence, 100 Rock Chalk Lane.

Additional sessions are being offered 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, June 25-26, and 9 a.m.-noon Monday-Thursday, July 16-19. Both camps will be located at Sports Pavilion Lawrence. Cost is $177 per camper, per session.
