Campers to express themselves through dance, telling the story of Moana

Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department offers dance camp inspired by the motion picture Moana.

Moana Dance Camp will be held 1-4 p.m. Monday-Friday, June 11-15, at the Community Building, 115 W. 11th St., for children six years-old to eight years-old and 1-2:30 p.m. Monday-Friday, June 25-29, at the Community Building for children four years-old to five years-old.  Cost of the camp is $95 and $55 respectively per individual/ per session.

Participants will explore movement and the basics of dance through the music from the movie and develop creativity through expression to tell a story. They will also improve balance and motor skills.  Participants will also create take-home crafts to commemorate their adventures in dance. Throughout the week, they will also develop dance routines that will culminate in a performance for family at the end of the week. Cost is $55 per child for those four.
