Eagle Bend taking registrations for summer junior league

Natalie WardCity, Parks & Recreation

Eagle Bend Golf Course and Learning Center is taking registrations for its 2018 Junior 9-Hole league.

Junior 9-Hole League promotes fun competition for junior golfers and is open to the first 48 boys and/or girls who are 12 years-old to 17 years-old and whose eighteenth birthday is prior to Thursday, May 31.

League will tee off 11 a.m. Mondays, June 11-July 23, except for July 2. Registration consists of a one-time fee of $70 per golfer.

This is not an instructional league; participants are expected to have basic knowledge of golf fundamentals and etiquette. Weekly medalists will be awarded for six weeks. Golfers will compete according to gender for low score. The best four scores of the six weeks will count toward stroke average. Doing this enables participants to miss up to two weeks of the six-week league, or to eliminate two higher scores from their rounds, and still compete for the season award. Each flight will have a season medalist winner for low round of the season. For 2018, there will be instructional clinics held at 10:30 a.m. on Mondays each week before league. Clinics are included in the league fee cost.
