Summer concerts continue Wednesday night, mid-day Thursday

Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department summer concert series continue this week.

The Lawrence City Band will perform 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 11, at the William Kelly Bandstand in historic South Park, 1141 Massachusetts St. The theme for music is Americana. In the event of inclement weather, the concert will be held at Murphy Hall, Room 130, on the University of Kansas campus.

The Brown Bag Concert Series will continue this week with a performance from Coal Creek Band. Their performance will be from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, July 12, in front of the US Bank building, 900 Massachusetts St. In the event of inclement weather, the concert will be held at Watkins Community Museum, 1047 Massachusetts St.
