The Lawrence Cultural Arts Commission is seeking a Lawrence artist to develop, design, and fabricate original artwork for the 2019 Phoenix Award program. RFQ/Call for Art
Interested artists are asked to submit a letter of interest, an annotated image list, and up to five images of past work to be considered for the 2019 Phoenix Award commission. The all-inclusive Phoenix Award art project budget is $2,500 and the selected artist will be required to create six awards—one for each awardee and one for display at the Lawrence Arts Center. Artwork for this project will be commissioned through the City of Lawrence Cultural Arts Commission. While creativity and innovation are encouraged, the awards must also be practically suitable for display and very well constructed to be able to survive handling and long-term display. Past awards are on view at the Lawrence Arts Center in the case next to the front desk.
