LPRD to paint up a spooky good time this Halloween

Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department is offering the chance to decorate Downtown Lawrence with their own original works of art.

Lawrence Parks and Recreation, Downtown Lawrence, Inc. and the Lawrence Breakfast Optimists Club are hosting the 47th annual Halloween Paint-In 8 a.m.-noon Saturday, Oct. 20, in Downtown Lawrence. The event is free and open to anyone in the third grade and older, as well as adults.  Participants must submit a sketch of their window design at Holcom Park Recreation Center, 2700 W. 25th St., prior to painting day. Participants must register by 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, to participate.  Entrants are also required to attend an organizational meeting at the Holcom Park Recreation Center 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18.  Each participant will receive a Halloween Paint-In T-shirt.
