Electronic Recycling Event on Saturday, October 6th

The City of Lawrence Solid Waste Division will host an Electronic Recycling Event on Saturday, October 6th from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the KU Park & Ride east parking lot, accessible from Clinton Parkway and Crestline Drive. This is a rain or shine event.

Items accepted for recycling include televisions, video and audio equipment, computers, printers, copiers, scanners, fax machines, microwaves and other small appliances, cell phones and other handheld devices, household batteries, VHS & cassette tapes, floppy disks, CDs & DVDs and vinyl records. There is a $20 recycling fee per CRT television & computer monitor 19 inches and under, and a $40 recycling fee per CRT television & computer monitor 20 inches and over. There is no recycling fee for other electronic equipment. Fees may be paid by cash only.

Items not accepted at this event include large appliances, Freon-containing items such as refrigerators and dehumidifiers, and household hazardous waste such as paint, pesticides, compressed gas cylinders, and fluorescent light bulbs.
