Lifelong Recreation to host holiday woodworking program

Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department is offering Holiday Wood Carving, a two-day workshop teaching the centuries-old art of woodcarving.

Holiday Wood Carving will introduce participants to various carving tools and how to safely use them, the types of wood suitable for carving and the cuts used to make a project. The workshop will be held 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Friday-Saturday, Nov. 2-3, at the Community Building, 115 West 11th St. Registration fee includes tools and wood for the project. Cost is $44 per person.
