Airbrush Apparitions: LPRD to paint up a spooky good time

Artists will have the chance to decorate Downtown Lawrence with their original works of art through Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department’s Halloween Paint-In.

Lawrence Parks and Recreation, Downtown Lawrence, Inc. and the Lawrence Breakfast Optimists Club are hosting the 47th annual Halloween Paint-In 8 a.m.-noon Saturday, Oct. 20, in Downtown Lawrence. The event is free and open to anyone in the third grade and older, as well as adults. Participants must submit a sketch of their window design at Holcom Park Recreation Center, 2700 W. 27th St., prior to painting day. Participants must register by 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, to participate.

Entrants are also required to attend an organizational meeting at the Holcom Park Recreation Center 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17. Each participant will receive a Halloween Paint-In t-shirt.
