Volleyball clinic to prep athletes for competitive play

Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department is offering children the opportunity to hone their volleyball skills in a clinic spread across multiple weeks.

Volleyball Clinic teaches the fundamentals, skills and rules needed to prepare the athletes for team competition. Clinics are divided into two age divisions: fourth and fifth grades and sixth through eighth grades. Clinics for fourth and fifth grades will be Sundays noon-2 p.m., Nov. 4-18. Clinics for sixth through eighth grades will be Sundays 2-4 p.m., Nov. 4-18. Both clinics will be held at Sports Pavilion Lawrence, 100 Rock Chalk Lane. Cost is $60 per participant. Registration deadline is Friday, Oct. 26.
