Kevin PowellCity, Parks & Recreation

Lawrence Parks and Recreation is offering a Yoga Nidra Workshop – a session designed to help participants release tension and relax.

Yoga Nidra, or yogic sleep, is a technique used to help ease insomnia, stress and chronic pain. Through meditation, participants 15 years-old and older will explore the physical body, the breath, the emotional body and the connection to a higher self, as well as methods for starting a home practice. The workshop will be held 7-8:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16, at Sports Pavilion Lawrence, 100 Rock Chalk Lane. Cost is $15 per person.

Participants are asked to bring a mat or blanket to class.
