LPRD offers rental space for parties, special events

Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department provides the public with rental space at the community’s recreational facilities for private use.

LPRD facilities provide a comfortable environment for meetings, family reunions, birthdays, graduations, weddings, anniversaries and other type of public or private event. The following facilities have rooms available for rent:

Carnegie Building, 200 W. Ninth St.
Community Building, 115 West 11th St.
East Lawrence Recreation Center, 1245 East 15th St.
Holcom Park Recreation Center, 2730 W. 27th St.
Lawrence Indoor Aquatic Center, 4706 Overland Drive
Sports Pavilion, 100 Rock Chalk Lane
Union Pacific Depot, 402 N. Second St.

The use of folding tables and chairs is included in the rental fee for all public facilities, excluding gymnasiums, the Community Building’s dance studio and the garden at the Lawrence Union Pacific Depot.

LPRD provides set up/take down services for your event for a fee. Blueprints of the public rooms at each recreation facility appear on their rental pages for your convenience.

Reservations for facility rentals are accepted at any of the community recreation centers including: the Community Building; Sports Pavilion Lawrence; East Lawrence Recreation Center; Holcom Park Recreation Center, Lawrence Indoor Aquatic Center and the Administrative Office, 1141 Massachusetts St., in South Park.
