Management Analyst II/ budget & finance

Municipal Services and Operations Department
Starting Salary:  $54,596 to $79,165 Annually DOQ
(Starting Salary Typically at Entry Level of Pay Range)

RESPONSIBILITIES:  The position performs analytical and technical duties in support of Municipal Services & Operations, including data analyses on financial and budgetary issues, budgeting and capital improvement planning; develops forecasts, projections and reports for operating and capital budgets and for capital improvement planning using enterprise, financial, and other business systems; assists with rate modeling for enterprise funds; assists in the support of applications and other customer information software. Works cooperatively with Management Analysts assigned to other functional areas in MSO, such as asset management, learning systems, management systems, and risk assessments. Provides leadership/support on special projects, including analyses, recommendations and strategic planning.

QUALIFICATIONS:  Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Accounting, Finance, Business or Public Administration, or related field.  Master’s degree preferred. Must have at least two years of increasingly responsible experience in public or business administration, with focus on finance and budget administration, and demonstrated experience in creating, implementing and managing program-level initiatives.  The successful candidate will have strong problem-solving skills and be adaptive, self-motivated, collaborative, innovative, and able to maintain a strong team environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office and other relevant computer technologies are critical.
