Combined Salary Range, Both Levels:  $61,148 to $99,304/Yr., (DOQ)
Responsibilities:      Municipal Services & Operations is seeking to fill the position of Project Engineer II (PE) or Project Engineer III (PE plus additional responsibility such as program lead, supervision).  The Project Engineer will assist with the planning, management, oversight of a variety of civil engineering projects associated with infrastructure system improvements, water, wastewater, traffic studies, and traffic projects.  This position will provide highly responsible and complex administrative and technical support.  Key responsibilities include development plan review, engineering design, CAD, plans, specifications, other contract documents for in-house projects including construction management as necessary, and public improvement plan reviews. Experience with transportation, infrastructure development, and/or stormwater projects is a plus.  This position will report to the City Engineer or Assistant Director.

Qualifications:       At minimum, requires 1) Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with major course work in civil engineering or a related field, 2) three plus years of increasingly responsible engineering and project management experience in projects directly related to infrastructure management (pavement, construction engineering, water, wastewater, stormwater, and traffic projects), CIP planning, and/or subdivision development and site planning.  Additionally, 3) must have possession of, or have ability to obtain by date of hire, a valid Certificate of Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) from the Kansas State Board of Technical Professions.  P.T.O.E. Certification preferred.  The level III position will meet above qualifications, have experience as program manager or supervising other engineers, with at least 5 plus years of experience as a P.E. The ideal candidate will have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to effectively communicate with a diverse group of people.  Desire working experience with MS Office, AutoCAD, and GIS software.  A Master’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, Engineering Management, or other related field is also preferred. The successful candidate must have a valid driver’s license and pass a post-offer City physical and drug screen.
