It’s a bird…it’s a plane…it’s Kaw Valley Eagles Day!

Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department is offering an educational program on birds of prey in Kansas at the community’s Eagles Day celebration.

Eagles Day will be held 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, at Billy Mills Middle School, 2734 Louisiana St. A program will be held on wintering bald eagles in Kansas as part of the day of activities. Marty Birrell, nature interpretive supervisor, of Prairie Park Nature Center will offer the  special program, featuring the nature center’s education eagles and raptors. Her presentation will be  9:50-10:30 a.m.and again at 2:05-2:40 p.m. as part of the day-long event.
