Fly Fishing 101 to introduce the art, sport of style

Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department’s Prairie Park Nature Center  is hosting an introductory class in fly fishing.

Fly Fishing 101 will introduce the fine art of fly fishing in four, two-hour classes and cover how to select and use rods, reels and flies. It will also review casting, knots, fly tying and other techniques to be successful. All equipment is provided for the class.

Fly Fishing 101 is open to those 15 years and older and will be held 7-9 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, Jan. 22-31, at Prairie Park Nature Center, 2700 W. 27th St.  A second session is being offered 7-9 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, Feb. 19-28, at the nature center. Cost is $100 per person.
