Management Analyst II: Budget and Finance

Starting Salary: $54,596 to $79,165 Annually DOQ

RESPONSIBILITIES: The position performs analytical and technical duties in support of the Lawrence Police Department, including data analyses on financial and budgetary issues; budgeting and capital improvement planning; accounts payable/receivable functions; review and approve employee payroll; develops forecasts, projections, and reports for annual department budgets and capital budgets and for capital improvement planning using financial, and other business systems; Provides leadership/support on special projects, including analyses, recommendations and strategic planning.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Accounting, Finance, Business or Public Administration, or equivalent related field experience. Master’s degree preferred. Must have at least two years of increasingly responsible experience in public or business administration, with focus on finance and budget administration, and demonstrated experience in creating, implementing and managing program-level initiatives. The successful candidate will have strong problem-solving skills and be adaptive, self-motivated, collaborative, innovative, and able to maintain a strong team environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office and other relevant computer technologies are critical.
