RESCHEDULED: Kaw Valley Eagles Day to be held February 16

Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department is offering an educational program on birds of prey in Kansas at the community’s Eagle Day celebration, which is being rescheduled for Saturday, Feb. 16.

The program will be held on wintering bald eagles in Kansas as part of the day of activities. Marty Birrell, nature interpretive supervisor, of Prairie Park Nature Center will offer two special programs featuring the nature center’s education eagles and raptors.

The program will be presented 9:50-10:30 a.m. and again at 2:05-2:40 p.m. as part of the day-long event.   Eagle Day, sponsored by the Jayhawk Audubon Society, will be held 8:30a.m.-4p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16, at Billy Mills Middle School, 2734 Louisiana St.
