Special online only summer camp guide released, camp enrollment to begin Monday

Kevin PowellCity, Parks & Recreation

Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department is releasing a special summer camp edition of its activities guide ahead of the release of the 2019 Summer/Fall Activities Guide, providing citizens more time to plan activities for children during the summer months.

The special online only 2019 Summer Camps Activities Guide lists all summer camps being offered by Parks and Recreation this summer. No paper copies will be distributed, but viewable copies will be available at all Parks and Recreation facilities.  It can be found at: https://assets.lawrenceks.org/lprd/sumcamp/summercamp19.pdf.

Enrollment in  summer camp programming will begin 8 a.m. Monday, March 18, both online, as well as at all Parks and Recreation facilities. All other summer and fall program enrollment will begin in late-April with the release of the 2019 Summer/Fall Activities Guide.

All program registration is done on a first-come, first-serve basis. Certain camps have minimum and maximum enrollment.  Registration is required before the camp begins. Waiting lists will be formed when a camp reach capacity; every attempt will be made to accommodate people on waiting lists.
