REMINDER: Egg hunt to be held for pups in the park

Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department will host the annual egg hunt for dogs in historic South Park.

The Pooch Egg Hunt Eggstravaganza will be held in South Park, 1141 Massachusetts St., from 9-10 a.m. Saturday, April 20. Each dog will be allowed to hunt a limited number of eggs that are filled with dog treats. Once they find the egg and claim it with their nose, owners can pick up the egg with a treat in them.

Check-in for the event begins at 8:30 a.m. and the hunt will begin at 9 a.m. All dogs are required to have current vaccinations. Register each dog separately. The Lawrence Humane Society will be providing treats and support for the event. Pre-registration is required by Wednesday, April 17. Cost is $10 per dog.
