Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department has a myriad of events planned for Saturday, April 20, in Lawrence.

The parade will begin at Eighth and Massachusetts streets at 11 a.m. and conclude on the east side of South Park at 11:30 a.m., where the celebration will begin. The celebration, free to the public, contains more than 50 exhibitors, as well as live music, free yoga and food vendors. The event will conclude at 4 p.m. For more information, please visit https://lawrenceks.org/earth-day/.

There will also be an Underwater Eggstravaganza at the Lawrence Indoor Aquatic Center, 4709 Overland Dr., running from noon to 12:45 p.m. Those who have not yet registered will be charged $7 the day of the event but will not be able to participate in the craft making. Finally, LPRD is hosting the Egg Hunt Eggstravaganza 1-3 p.m. on the west side of South Park. This event is free to the public and open to children three years-old 12 years-old. The egg hunt festivities will also include a bounce house and an inflatable obstacle course.

In conjunction with Earth Day, Lawrence Transit is offering free bus rides all day on April 20. Due to the congestion of downtown events, it is strongly recommended that this is used as a primary mode of transportation.
