Program combines strategy, teamwork in summer tournament battle

Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department is offering a Nerf tournament that will test the skills of all who participate.

Nerf Wars will be held 10-11:50 a.m. Saturday, July 20, at Sports Pavilion Lawrence, 100 Rock Chalk Lane, for children six years-old to nine years-old. A second session is also being held noon-2 p.m. Saturday, July 20, at Sports Pavilion Lawrence for children 10 years-old to 13 years-old. Participants will combine speed, agility, strategy and teamwork in defeating opponents in the Nerf Tournament.

Matches will be played by teams of four in a capture the flag format. Players must wear protective eyewear and provide an unmodified Nerf Dart gun, as well as darts. Dart guns will be inspected before play begins. Interested participants may register as a single or as a team of four, but each player must register separately. If registering as a part of a team, please be sure to indicate your teammates on your registration form. Cost for the tournament is $12 per player.
