Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department’s Prairie Park Nature Center offers multiple party packages for children’s birthdays.
Basic birthday party packages include a 40-minute naturalist-led program, a 20-minute activity and a total of two hours of class time. Children can choose from different live animal program themes, including: Touch and Feel Animals, Slippery and Scaly, Critters of Kansas and Who’s Awake? Nighttime Critters. Cost for the basic package is $130. Maximum party attendance is 15 children and 10 adults.
Party participants must supply their own food and decorations; however, there are options for treats and decorations for an additional fee. Prairie Park Nature center is located at 2730 Harper St.
