City launches new online agenda management program

Kevin PowellCity, City Commission

The City of Lawrence will begin using a new online agenda management system starting with the May 21 City Commission meeting. The program is a product of iCompass, a company that specializes in meeting management solutions for local government. City staff has been working with iCompass to develop and test this new agenda management system as an improvement to the current outdated agenda management system that’s been in use since 2004.

Staff presented a demonstration at this week’s City Commission meeting.

The iCompass program will allow staff to:

  • Increase the efficiency of agenda packet development
  • Improve meeting agenda workflow process
  • Increase accessibility
  • Increase paperless agenda options

The program is more efficient and provides note-taking options for both elected officials and the public.

The city plans to move all city advisory boards and commission agendas to the new system in the coming weeks.

Before selecting the new agenda management system, the City of Lawrence conducted a competitive vendor selection process. iCompass was selected because of its easy-to-use cloud-based platform.

To access the City Commission agenda on the new iCompass platform, please go to the City’s agenda web page here: https://lawrenceks.org/agendas. The agenda for the May 21 City Commission meeting will be posted online in the afternoon on Thursday, May 16.

In addition, a new email address has been created for people to submit agenda-related correspondence to the City Commission: ccagendas@lawrenceks.org
