Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department, along with Mad Science of Kansas City, will give campers the opportunity to discover the outer reaches of our solar system.
NASA: Journey Into Outer Space is open to children eight years-old to 12 years-old and will be held 8 a.m.-noon Monday-Thursday, July 8-11, at Sports Pavilion Lawrence, 100 Rock Chalk Lane.. Participants will learn about the four forces of flight, the challenges of space travel and participate in a rocket launch. The program will also commemorate the historic flight 50 years ago when man walked on the moon for the first time. NASA: Journey Into Outer Space will explore comets, planets, stars and more. Cost is $178 per camper, which includes a commemorative 50th anniversary patch of the first man to walk on the moon.
