Summer concerts continue Wednesday night, mid-day Thursday

Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department summer concert series continue this week.

The Lawrence City Band performance this week will be themed: Showtime! It will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, at the William Kelly Bandstand located in historic South Park, 1141 Massachusetts St. In the event of inclement weather, the concert will be moved to the Lied Center, 1600 Stewart Lane, on the campus of the University of Kansas.

The Brown Bag Concert Series will continue with a performance from Mike Shurtz Group. Their performance will be from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, June 20, at the U.S. Bank Building, 900 Massachusetts St. In the event of inclement weather, the concert will be held at Watkins Community Museum, 1047 Massachusetts St.
