Nature center energizing summer fun

Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department’s Prairie Park Nature Center is holding a one-day program giving youth with the chance to learn about renewable energy sources.

Ecoenergy Camp provides children six years-old to 12 years-old with a day of hands-on investigations into generating clean energy. Campers will build and take home a solar car, cook in a solar oven and harness the power of wind and water. Camp is 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday, July 2, at the nature center, 2730 Harper St. Cost of the camp is $40.
