Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department’s aquatic division will be dog ready for this year’s Pooch Plunge held on Monday, Aug. 19.
The Pooch Plunge will be take place from 4-7 p.m. at the Outdoor Aquatic Center, 727 Kentucky St., and will provide local pets the chance to swim before the outdoor pool is drained for the season. All dogs must have proof of current vaccinations the day of the event and must remain under their owner’s control at all times. The fee for the event is $5 per dog. There is no charge for spectators.
Registration will be available at the door, but owners may also pre-register online at http://lprd.org/activity?n=311142 or at any LPRD facility including: the Community Building, 115 W. 11th St.; Sports Pavilion Lawrence, 100 Rock Chalk Lane; East Lawrence Recreation Center, 1245 East 15th St.; Holcom Park Recreation Center, 2700 West 27th St.; Lawrence Indoor Aquatic Center, 4706 Overland Drive; Lawrence Outdoor Aquatic Center; Prairie Park Nature Center, 2730 Harper St. or the Administrative Office in South Park, 1141 Massachusetts St.
