Fusion of movements with aquatics makes for stretching class

Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department aquatic division’s is offering a fitness class that helps improve movement.

Aqua Stretch Fusion II is open to those 16 years-old and older and provides a cardio warm-up segment followed by elements of yoga and tai chi that are blended with dynamic flexibility and movement patterns to heighten the aquatic stretch experience. Besides improving movement, classwork aims to improve balance, core stabilization, muscular endurance, flexibility and range of motion.

It is scheduled 8:15-9:15 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, Sept. 10-Oct. 24, at the Indoor Aquatic Center, 4709 Overland Drive.  Cost is $49 per person.   A second session is planned for 8:15-9:15 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, Nov. 5-Dec. 19. Cost for the second session is $42.
