LPRD offering class to study the “best director” of all time

Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department’s  Lifelong Recreation division is highlighting movies from John Ford in this spring’s film study.

Film Study: John Ford explores the distinctive style, casting favorites and continuing influence on American film of the director who has won the most Oscars for “Best Director” of all time. Not only is he one of the most successful directors of westerns, he is also responsible for directing Stagecoach, the movie that shot John Wayne to fame. The program will be held 6:30-8:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Feb. 11-March 31, at the Pioneer Ridge Retirement Community, 4851 Harvard Rd. Cost is $24 per person.
