Nature center class to teach nature painting with watercolors

Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department’s Prairie Park Nature Center is hosting a class designed to teach the techniques of painting nature with watercolor paints.

Easy Nature Watercolor Painting will have participants follow a video demonstration and instruction on painting techniques, brushwork, color blending and more. Participants will then use pictures and transfer paper to create their own nature painting in just a few simple steps. The program is 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 2, at Prairie Park Nature Center, 2730 Harper St. Cost is $25 per participant. Paints, brushes, and watercolor paper will be supplied.

A second session will take place 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 16, at the nature center.
